Summary

Close Lumber and Corning Lumber is a family-owned building materials and hardware store chain in northern California, with locations in Sutter, Yuba City, Williams, Willows, Orland, and Corning. This job listing is for the Orland location. Store operations are Monday through Saturday.

This employee’s focus will be to put away stock, use saws to cut lumber and other building materials, assist with customer orders and deliveries, and assist customers in-person and over the phone in a retail store. The employee will need to be able to provide excellent customer service both in-person and over the phone.

This is a full-time position. The work schedule is about 7 to 10 hours a day, 32 to 48 hours a week. This job includes full benefits:

Essential Job Tasks:

• Comply with company policies and standard procedures
• Operate saws and power equipment
• Stock inventory

Requirements of Applicant:

• Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening
• Ability to lift and move inventory through the day
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Able to work in an outdoor environment
• Ability to load gravel and cement in concrete-mix trailers
• Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
• Effectively communicate with co-workers and administrative staff
• Ability to provide great customer service
• Enthusiastic interest in learning unique product offerings of the company
• Basic computer skills necessary for invoicing and taking orders

Skills that will help you stand out as an applicant:

• Willingness to work at nearby locations in Willows and Corning
• Ability to drive a Class C truck for local deliveries of orders
• Relevant experience or knowledge in construction, building materials, and/or retail services is a plus (though not required)
• A fluent speaker of Spanish is a plus (though not required)
• Experience in operating a forklift is a plus (though not required)
