Close Lumber & Corning Lumber is a family-owned building materials and hardware store chain in northern California, with locations in Sutter, Yuba City, Williams, Willows, Orland, and Corning. This job listing is for the Sutter location. Store operations are Monday through Saturday.

This Class A truck driver position provides qualified applicants the opportunity to use their skill in operating Class A trucks, and being able to return to their home after every work day.  Deliveries performed by our Class A drivers generally occur within 100 miles of Sutter, CA.

This full-time position is an hourly position, and regularly works 40+ hour weeks with overtime.

This is a full-time position. The work schedule is generally 7 to 10 hours a day, 32 to 48 hours a week. This position regularly works overtime. This job includes full benefits, including:

Essential Job Tasks

• Provide excellent customer service
• Deliver customer orders (this will be typically less than 100 miles from store location)
• Transfer merchandise between store locations
• Responsible for ensuring the safe loading and unloading of vehicle using a forklift or physical handling
• Picking up materials from suppliers
• Operate a forklift
• Effectively communicate with company staff
• Safely operate a 10-speed manual transmission Class A truck
• Perform safety and maintenance inspection of vehicle daily
• Available Monday through Saturday. Typical work schedule of 8–10 hours per day

Requirements

• Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening to be considered for this position
• Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
• Effectively communicate with co-workers and administrative staff
• Ability to maintain great customer relations
• Able to perform physical handling of building materials
• Class A Driver’s License
• Drive and operate a 10-speed manual transmission truck
• Willing to learn how to operate a truck-mounted boom-style forklift
• Literate in English
